Google Drive and Classroom Forum: (5pts) Due Monday 5/18
DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE AND ASSEMBLY (DFMAE)
The final section in your User Manual (just before your contact information) will outline the instructions for your final build. The title of this section will be “Design For Manufacture and Assembly.” Be sure to add this to your Table of Contents.
These are the most important details that will guide the next engineering team to successfully build your design with ease and efficiency. In order to ensure the manufacture of your game design goes smoothly, you will need to be methodical in how you outline the steps for constructing each individual component and then putting them all together.
You have already completed your research on materials and gone through the steps of actually producing your second prototype, so now you need to synthesize this information for who will follow in your footsteps. After going through the initial construction process, considering the user experience and safety concerns, as well as overall cost, your final instructions may vary slightly from your team’s original design concept. This is not only acceptable, but expected. Even in this final stage of the engineering process, you should allow for iteration of your game design.
Begin with an outline and then fill in the specific details. Include all relevant links, photographs, and drawings with specific scale requirements.
