How to care for watermelons:

Watermelons need full sunlight! They are very similar to pumpkins and need at least an inch of water per week (sometimes more during dry, hot weather). Make sure to hand weed around the plants.

How to Harvest Watermelons:

It’s hard to tell when to harvest watermelon. In order to see if the fruit is ripe, check the curly cue of the stem and see if it is brown. Then, check the underside of the watermelon and see if it is yellow (not white!). Lastly, use your thumb and thump the watermelon. If there is a dull thump sound, the watermelon is ready to be picked.
