Create a new post titled, ”Week 13: Science Photography” and add your entry.


Quote Project

Select one of the Photographer Quotes linked here that speaks to you the most. It should align exactly with your interests in, fascination for, and wisdom of the photography medium.

  • Review the portfolio of work by your selected photographer and select one of his/her images to share your selected quote.


Classroom Forum: (5pts) Due Wednesday 4/22

Create a new post in the Classroom Forum titled, “Week 13: Quote Selection” and post an image by the photographer and write out their quote. Next, explain why you connected with this particular quote.


Next, search through any of the images you have taken in the past few years that embodies this quote. It may align with the subject matter, compositional technique, or overall feeling of the quote. You may also choose to produce new photographs. You will ultimately be working in Photoshop to combine your own image with the photographer's quote to be featured on Instagram @fxcphotography to celebrate what we all love and appreciate about this incredible medium.

Review Using the Type Tool in Photoshop (tutorial below)

  • Open your photograph in Photoshop, crop it to size 8in X 8in. Be sure to select a portion of your photograph that has a good balance of negative space to leave room for the quote.

  • Add adjustment layers to improve the visual impact of the image and also align with the overall mood or tone of the photographer's words.

  • Use the Type Tool to layer the text with your image. Be sure to include a credit to the photographer.

  • Review additional Photoshop tutorials on Blending Images with Text in Photoshop to get creative with your approach and provide unity among all visual elements.



Creative Cloud and Classroom Forum: Due Week 14 - Tuesday 4/27

  • Save your work as a JPEG in the FXC Photography folder on Creative Cloud titled, "Quote."

  • Create a new post on the Classroom Forum titled, "Week 13: Quote Composition"
