What stood out to me was her answer to the question do words have an effect on image-making. She described it very evocatively -- talking of how she knew when it was the right photo because of the "tuning-fork" in her mind, and how she read a lot of Southern Gothic and those mental images bled into her photography. I relate to that because I read a lot, and the main reason why I took up photography was to seek to capture those types of moments that are evoked in word form.
