Hi y'all! So one of the things that I listed on Things I Have Learned in My Life So Far is that sometimes the truth isn't always pretty. This means that sometimes telling people the truth, is what they need to hear now, and not be lied to later about, it is not going to nice (or pretty). I know this sounds really mean, and I kind of agree with you.
I actually learned this a couple of days ago when I was DM'ing a friend. I am going to call him Will because I don't think he would actually like me talking about this. So Will just got dumped and he still wanted to be friends with his ex (other stuff happened too, but that is the gist of it). So he came to me of all people (I have never dated anyone in my life... hello... girls-only school) and asked me how to still be friends with her because he didn't think he did anything wrong. Before I responded I was wondering if I should tell him the truth of that I think this toxic relationship, or if I should say it's her loss (etcetera etcetera). I told him the truth (because I am a very blunt person in general), and because I realized lying to him about what I think of his relationship (when he asked me my opinion) wasn't going to help him. That I'm telling him I thought it was a toxic relationship is actually what he needs to hear, and what he needs to know, even though it isn't very nice and pretty.
So I have one idea on how to do this project, chalk. I could write my message on the street or on the steps to my house. I would write "sometimes the truth isn't always pretty". I think I would do different fonts for different words like pretty is more cursive, isn't would be bold, always, would be big, the truth would be bubbly and sometimes would be small. I believe this would be helpful because certain words will stand out more. Also, I would probably photography my brother writing this, so there is another aspect. This would be important because it is not only just words but also a person writing it would humanize it more. I think I should write this out and do this like this because this is an important message to me, should I tell people the truth, or what they want to hear? We battle over this question every day, conversations without parents, teachers, friends, and yes, even Will. I think it would be important to write it out because of this question and the thought will keep me grounded in conversations.

Since the truth isn't always pretty, maybe you could smear some of the letters so they're not nice and neat, or use different colors that don't necessarily mix well together to demonstrate that. The different style of writing for each word is a great idea.
I like the chalk idea and writing it outside. You would also ask the questions 'should i tell people the truth or what they want to hear' or are those just ideas that go along with it? Are you writing the words on the front of the steps or on the ground near the steps? I like the message you are trying to send.
I really like the idea of using the chalks and writing it outstand. I think it will really makes it stand out! I want to ask how will you make the chalks to stay on the walls/steps? Are you going to add any patterns besides the word? Thank you!
