Today I was exposed to a lot of artist terms, and I learned a lot about some opinions that some artists hold.
Rationalist

Rationalist is the first term which inspires me. In the post-world war I, the scarcity of materials forced many of the artists to explore other types of art, which is really difficult for them. For example, one of the artworks I like most is Alexander Calder’s Vertical Constellation with Yellow Bone, which connects all the pieces by the thick wire and makes it stand on the base in the conventional manner.

Censorship Now!!

I think this is a really radical artwork. The artist, Frances Stark, duplicates two pages of a book, called Censorship Now!! In this work, he advocates the review of many lower parts of mainstream culture and organizational culture. What I think interesting is that it points out that, “Art is now in a list state now. It’s a mess, without any idea of why it exists, where it’s going, who it’s for, and where it comes from.”
Homeless Vehicle
This is a vehicle which was invented for the people who are homeless due to the stock market crash of 1987. Because of this crisis, the polish-born artist Krzysztof Wodiczko redesigned the archetypal grocery cart for greater functionality, which still can serve the function of personal, social, and educational.
